SEO
One of the biggest problems in business today is that companies can have a good website that is never seen by potential customers. Clients often pay thousands of dollars to develop a functional website, only to find that they are getting no traffic to that site. Obviously a website has to be found in order to be effective, and fortunately there are ways to expose your site to the "cyber-world" and drive business to your company. The SEO (Search Engine Optimization) experts at Solutions 8 can work with you to develop a plan that is industry-specific and fits your budget. There are two major pieces to the whole SEO process: on-site optimization, including content-creation (30% of our time on your project) and off-site optimization, or link-building (70% of our time).
Off-site Optimization
Search engines rank websites by the following criteria: the relevance of their content, the integrity of their code and rate of change (all "on-site" variables) but also by the application's "importance" as indicated by its prevalence throughout the web. Off-site optimization is truly just link-building, which is simply creating cohesive links between reputable and relevant websites, directories, and blogs.
While this sounds easy enough, it is an exceptionally tedious process because 99% of all "valuable" links require a manual creation. Link-building can take anywhere from ten minutes to several days to create, depending upon the target application. Each link is unique and requires a certain amount of high-level interfacing. A technician's job is made even more difficult through the danger of linking with applications that aren't considered relevant, or with those who are guilty of "black hat," or unethical optimization techniques. Such links can easily lose rankings and require significant damage control to correct. Thus, a larger SEO package for a client means that the consultant must spend proportionally higher hours on link-creation.
However, the question many clients ask is, "Will my ranking increase in direct proportion to my SEO package?" Regrettably, the answer is, “not necessarily.” The more competitive a key phrase becomes the more difficult it becomes to optimize. While an increased SEO package will show measurable results, it doesn't necessarily mean the client will experience twice the optimization results by doubling their package. The team at Solutions 8 will work with you and your budget to determine which key phrases–at what price–will likely generate the best return on investment.
On-Site Optimization
On-site optimization is the most important part of search engine optimization because it encompasses content creation. If the application doesn't have unique and relevant content that is consistently changing, it truly doesn't matter how many links are being built because, while the possibility of indexing increases exponentially, the actual index placement is low if content is lacking.
Solid content creation is crucial. The content must be completely unique, and the application must continue to provide updated content on a regular basis. Articles should be between 600 and 1,500 words, should have 2% to 5% key phrase permeation, should not repeat key phrases too often, and should not contain too many outbound links. Our team can offer professional website content writing and editing to ensure proper SEO. Now is the time to invest in a Solutions 8 custom content package in order to highlight your talents and promote your goods and services to your ideal potential market.
